All of our production is carried out in our own mill, giving us complete control over quality, consistency and lead times. By keeping every stage of manufacturing under one roof, we maintain the highest standards while remaining flexible to the needs of our customers.

Lochaven is internationally recognised as the original manufacturer of the Hogwarts knitwear created for the Harry Potter film series, working in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pictures and the films’ costume designers. Our mill was selected to design and manufacture the knitwear worn throughout the films, including the iconic Hogwarts school jumpers, tank tops, cardigans, Quidditch sweaters and the distinctive jumpers worn by Harry and Ron.
The evolution of knitwear styles across the film series was made possible by access to Lochaven’s extensive archive of designs dating back to the 1950s, allowing costume designers to create garments that felt authentic and timeless within the world of Hogwarts.
Lochaven also produced knitwear for the Fantastic Beasts film series, continuing our collaboration within the wider Wizarding World franchise.
In 2010, Lochaven International Limited signed a global licence agreement with Warner Bros. Pictures to produce official co-branded Harry Potter knitwear.
Our garments are sold as official merchandise through retailers worldwide including Universal Studios Florida, Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood.
Our garments are also displayed at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour – The Making of Harry Potter, the popular visitor attraction located at the original film studios where much of the Harry Potter series was produced. The studio tour allows visitors to explore authentic sets, props and costumes used in the films, offering a behind-the-scenes look at how the Wizarding World was brought to life. Lochaven knitwear forms part of this exhibition, showcasing the original Hogwarts garments created for the films.

Lochaven works with costume designers for the hit Netflix series Wednesday, produced by MGM Television. All knitwear worn as part of the Nevermore Academy school uniform is manufactured at our mill in Scotland.
One of our most prestigious collaborations has been with Prada, manufacturing knitwear for their “Made in Scotland” collection combining Italian design with traditional Scottish manufacturing expertise.
We also collaborate with Comme des Garçons, the influential avant-garde fashion house headquartered in Paris, producing knitwear including pieces associated with the widely recognised CDG Play line.

Their philosophy celebrates timeless clothing beyond the suit, seeking out specialist Scottish mills to produce knitwear that reflects quality, comfort and enduring style.
One of our most recognised products is ’Naturefleece’ our trademarked soft felted lambswool knitwear developed and manufactured in our mill in Stewarton, Ayrshire, Scotland. ‘Naturefleece’ combines the natural warmth and durability of lambswool with a specialised felting process that creates an exceptionally soft, comfortable and hard-wearing garment.
Today, Naturefleece garments are supplied to retailers worldwide and are particularly popular in international markets including Germany and the United States.
